Our History
In the early 90’s, Dainton Park founders, David and Carol Wood, had a vision to create an accessible golf club for everyone to enjoy the game and socialise with friends and family. They believed that, at the time, golf clubs were too stuffy, too formal, too traditional, and that a fresh, friendly approach would be well received.
They employed the services of Bristol-based architect Adrian Stiff to design the golf course, and. Despite initially having nothing more to show than ploughed fields and caravan for an office, over 500 members signed up in the first few months of construction.
Over time...
Over time, 18 new greens and tees were created, along with several lakes, and the fairways were shaped with the introduction of 22,000 sapling trees. Finally,The Clubhouse was constructed And the doors opened to members and visitors in May, 1993
Over the years, the facility has grown to include a 10-bay floodlit driving range, Oak Room Restaurant, business meeting rooms and Beauty Cabin, so much so the club is now a complete destination for anyone wishing to enjoy a social, healthy lifestyle.
Dainton Park is still owned and managed by the same founding family, who continue to promote the club’s original ethos of friendly service, familiarity and inclusivity.
