Coaching Academy

Our world-class Coaching Academy is equipped to provide a wide range of golf coaching for everyone.

Our Academy includes:

Floodlit, covered driving range
Indoor teaching studio
Outdoor practice area
Knowledgeable and friendly PGA-qualified coaches
State-of-the-art TrackMan 4 launch monitor

Tuition includes:

1 : 1 coaching on the range, course or short game area
Group coaching on the driving range
Custom club fittings with Trackman

We aim to make golf accessible to everyone, and our coaching facilities are open to non-members.

Junior Coaching Academy

Every Saturday morning, our team of friendly teaching professionals introduce new children to our amazing sport.

Our Junior Coaching Academy teaches the fundamentals of the game in a positive, safe environment. Our young players are active outdoors, learn respect for their peers and their environment, and form long-lasting friendships.

Each week, the academy is split into 4 sessions to suit all ages and abilities.

Group 1: 9-10 am 10 years+
Group 2: 10-11 am 8-10 years
Group 3: 11:15-12 pm 5-8 beginners
Group 4: 12-12:45 pm 5-8 experienced

Each session is 45-60 minutes long and takes place on the driving range and short game area. Parents can make full use of the bar and restaurant during this time. The cost is £60 per 10-week term or £35 for 5 weeks. Alternatively, you can pay weekly for £8 per session.

Dainton strives to create a safe environment for children and young adults to enjoy themselves while learning this amazing sport. We have recently been awarded the SafeGolf accreditation from England Golf. Please see our relevant policies below.

Richard Woods - Head PGA Golf Professional

Richard joined Dainton Park as Assistant Golf Professional in 2011, following 10 years working for American Golf in Plymouth. He brings a wealth of retail and club fitting experience with him.

After qualifying as a PGA Professional, he has developed a relaxed and intuitive teaching style, equally comfortable introducing complete beginners to the game and coaching elite county players.

Richard enjoys equal success on the Devon and West of England PGA circuits, including victory in the Kenyon Order of Merit Trophy in 2015/16.

Brad Sercombe - PGA Golf Professional

Brad joined Dainton Park as a junior member and soon realised he wanted a career in golf. After a few years working in the pro shop, Brad turned professional at the age of 18 and passed his PGA degree to become a fully qualified professional. For the past two years, he has been coaching golfers of all abilities full time.

Brad is also the face of the Junior section at Dainton Park, with over 40 children attending the academy every Saturday, alongside the promising future talent emerging from the junior membership. Brad continues to enjoy success in playing golf, and he is always happy to help new golfers get into the sport and advanced golfers reach the next level.

Andrew Ferris - Trainee Assistant PGA Golf Professional

Andy has been in the golf industry for 10 years, custom-fitting golf clubs for 9 of them. He is a fully qualified custom fitter and has worked with all of the leading manufacturers.

Andy is starting his PGA Coaching Degree this year, but already benefits from an excellent knowledge of the short game. He has studied a variety of techniques from the world’s best short game players and believes he can improve your skill and understanding to help lower your scores.

Andy has played golf at County and National levels for a number of years, getting as low as +4 before turning pro. He recently won the Devon and Cornwall PGA Championships.
